If you follow the link, you’ll find a whole bunch of tips for writers. And I must say most of them make sense, although personally I would advise against following these rules too rigidly. There should be a balance between readability and effectiveness in communicating ideas, that can only be arrived at by having a good understanding of the target audience, the readers.
